I was considering making my own cargo barrier, but using safety rope netting. this way you could easily remove the net, scrunch it up and stick it under the front seats if needed.

eg, the trailer covers, three quarters of the way down this page Custom made safety nets and safety netting

The catch is how to connect them to the inside points of the car.

I have a Milford. What year is the Defender? The Puma's back seats are a different design and I don't think there are any barriers available?

I have home made one in my Puma. Not hard to make, strong and made some extra tie downs as the originals not used to anchor the home made drawer & storage system

    Hi Scotty,
ARB in Melbourne sell Milford cargo barriers for around $634.00 for 07 models on, or $568.00 for 06/1992-09/2007 models not including fitting. Rovacraft have a barrier for $399.00 for most models. Not sure about the ratings for these items though. I have got to make a decision myself as I don't want to wear the load in the back.

Just placed an order for the new ARB winch bar to suit Puma Defenders but will fit earlier 1985 models on according to the literature. Looks good with more modern styling and should be fitted in a few weeks.
