    750 x 16 tyres on a 80"

Hey all i have a set of 750 X 16 bar tread tyres on 2A LWB rims would the 2 litre motor in my 1953 80" be able to turn them ok or will it be to high geared with a larger over all tyre diamiter? as I think the 600 X 16 are way to small.

    7.50 tyres

    The tyres will fit
they will act like a over drive
your 2 ltr engine has the same power as my 109
    lot less weight
    which will help
you will rub the chassis with the tyres
you have 2 adjusters, one either side
full lock, adjust so the tyres clear, when you spin them, then do other side
you need to jack both wheels off the deck, because it is the other side tyre is the one that scrapes
you may need a step to get in if your rear end is a close to the ground as mine
(short legs) as the car will be about 2 inches higher
    cheers

As Ian says - they will work. But I am interested in why you think 600x16 is too small - after all they were the ones it was designed to use. With the larger tyres you lose turning circle, increase unsprung weight and lose acceleration, although the 2 litre will bring performance back to the original.

I fitted 7.50s to my 80" for the same reason. No problem power wise, it does have a 2.25 litre diesel fitted though!
