    Ignition Switch

    Does anyone know where I can get a Headlight switch with the key switch in the middle of it??. I want to get it out from under Ralph's dash.

    You could try Gold City Spares at Gympie,they still wreck series, but you may have to get a key cut,any locksmith should be able to do that as it s only a Lucas F series key blank,OR you could contact Kevin Baker (KB Classic Spares (07)54 944 221) the Lucas man at Witta (out past Maleny) as he should have new ones,but they will be $$$$, as genuine stuff is pricey now.

    cheers

    or you could send me a PM and we could talk about it. I have one here. The key for it doesn't offer any real 'security' but it works.

    I've just been down at Land Vehicle Spares, and Brian has a mile of new and secondhand switches.

    This is what I have now digger, but I want to get the one with the key in the middle of the rotary switch. Is this the one you have Drifter? In the attached photo you can see the key switch under the dash. Thanks for the leads peterg and Uncleho. I should have had a look here yesterday morning as I was up near the Sunny Coast yesterday. The only problem of going near Maleny is the wife and her appetite for the shops up there in the mountains.

    Thought for the day;
    What if everyone in the world farted all at the same time?

    That's why I NEVER take my wife with me when I go to Kevin Baker's

    that is a nice original lucas type switch from another english car/commercial, there are 2 types of switch for the early 2/2a, one that has the little tg on the bottom the other has just a 6 sided seration on it, both have the centre key,I can't remember what year the change was at,is your vehicle a diesel, as I see what looks like a low fuel blue light on the right side of the dash??

    cheers

    This is what I had in the vehicle. It is now sitting in a corner of the shed:

    Yes, that is an original 2a ign switch, with FA/FS type key,you can get keys cut from a locksmith if required, (early key barrels had the number stamped on the face,937--681 etc,) and they are safe now as most people would know how to or her to get a key for them

    cheers

    Thanks UncleHo

    There is a number stamped on the front of this one and it uses a key that is stamped FS 886 - numbers match!

    To the OP - I was wrong - the key unit I will be using on my vehicle is the rodgered one - this one appears to be the right fit.
