Wish I had a camera handy...

Driving past the front of home today I noticed a white P38 with a bonnet scoop and a ladder bolted to the back upper tail gate... 2 accessories/modifications I have never seen in Aust.

The bonnet scoop actually looked a little like a RRC vent turned backwards?

And the ladder attached directly to the upper door and looked like the one I have seen in the 2009 bearmach catalogue.

I wonder if that scoop has anything to do with swimming/water crossing?

I say a few p38 bonnets with louvers sitting in John davis (now bruce davis) workshop 10 years ago, some may have stayed in aus, but he was doing a bit of work in the UAI at the time, so may have ended up there.

They were also widening a p38 by 8 inches (oil money) but i never saw the completed article, only pics of the body shell. This was also a brand new car at the time.

I have seen a ladder too....
