    A question

Anyone ever fallen off a stepladder while waxing the roof of the Defender?

Why wax the roof of the Deefer? It will only get scratched again when you go bush.
Don't even bother to wash it as the dirt will hide the scratches.

Are you taking into account Oh&S legislation before doing it or something.

Haven't actually fallen. But the ladder or milk crate have often slipped and its been really close. Before I put the full roof rack on I polished it heaps, because I knew it was never going to get washed properly again.

I love getting it dirty and I may be one of the few with a scratched to buggery SVX. Although a lot of elbow grease has diminished most of them. I live near the city. Personally I think some people like getting dirty and then leaving it that way to drive around all week to show off that they actually use their 4X4's.
I Know I use mine. I like to keep it clean between use.

Now using a tretle type arrangement, much more stable. The roof of the Defender is such a big area it makes an easy target for bird droppings.Bird droppings not too good for the paint work. Lots of trees around me, lots of birds in the trees so lots of bird crap. I think they hold fire until the see us coming!
By the way, my whole life did not flash before me as the step ladder went one way and I went the other. Just had time to say -"Oh Gosh" - actually something more colourful was said in mid flight. Definately a trestle system for me.
