			False alarms

The security alarm on my 2008 D3 frequently activates for no apparent reason and at any time. I'm going to get it looked at during the next service, but the dealer is obviously not enthusiastic about identifying an intermittent fault like this.

Has anyone else had a problem with false alarms, and what was the solution?

I have tried a hard reset, but it made no difference.

Moths in your area? Or a spider moving around the cabin will do it.

Also, I know with the D2 windows down will set it off, or the Engel kicking in does it too... Cant be sure on the D3 - Havent played that much with its systems yet.

The dealer should not have to worry about this. All they need to do is go into the system & see what the last few alarm triggers were.

If they're all the same (and they usually are), they'll know what the problem is.
From what I've seen in the past, it could just be a dodgy bonnet switch.

As Scouse has already said , most likely cause is bonnet switch located on the drivers side catch, make sure it is clicked in properly as will cause mislock & alarm problems. , most likely cause is bonnet switch located on the drivers side catch, make sure it is clicked in properly as will cause mislock & alarm problems.

 Cheers.
