I'd stick to OEM whils the vehicle is under warranty, and also use a torque wrench and socket when changing the filter and doing up the drain plug.

    Oil filter cover: 35 Nm (26 lb.ft).
Drain plug: 23 Nm (17 lb.ft). (Should be replaced when oil changed)

    Cheers,

Hi Trailcutter, the manual states to change the sump plug every lube change. It's basically a bolt with a rubber washer, they're only about $10.

    Cheers,

Like trailcutter I have a new Puma and "they" say next oil change is at 12000km.

Now... On prevous new cars "they" say the first oil change should be a lot less than that, like 1000km.

Reckon it's ok to leave the first oil change to 12000km?

    Hi,
I have just over 1,000 km on mine, and it is going in for an oil change next week.
As it is a June 2009 vehicle, and I bought it last month, I think it wise to do the oil on the time factor rather than the 10,000km travelled.
    cheers

    trailcutter...

Although the servicing book says 20 000km that is NOT for Australia.

Didn't they put a sticker on your windscreen saying 12 000 km?
Dealer also emphasised to me 12 000km.

My parents just took delivery of their new Puma 110. Dealer told them servicing every 20k as well.

They have no intention of letting it go that long. It may well be fine at 20k intervals, but it ain't gonna hurt being done at least half of that regularly!!
