OK, thanks for that Woko, now today it cost $66 for somebody to hook up a reader to the onboard computer on my FL1, which is a load of crap, only took 5 minutes, would one of these readers do the job and give me the error codes I need?? The way I read it you plug in and get the error code from the car and then read it off on your computer!!!

Most readers will only read standard codes and not manufacture specific codes. It will read codes on your Freelander but not all of them. It would be better to get a reader that is more manufacture specific as it will read everything not just some things. Unsure of Freelander specific readers available. Maybe some of the vendors here may stock them. The ones that work shops have do the LR range and are expensive, there may be one that just does Freelander.
