    Capture NX2 bug??

Not sure if to classify this as a bug or an oversight... or just plain user error.

However, I discovered quite by accident that when working on CNX2, if you set the control points over the image to do some PP work, then RESIZE the image down (say to 72dpi, 800x600) NONE of the control points move with the resize!! So the control points stay static, left on the resultant blank canvas.

So the way around this is to save the image as a TIFF, close the file (as it still gives you the open control points, re-open the tiff file abd resize... alternatively, open the TIFF file in another application and finish PP there.

What are your thoughts on this?

I have try to reproduce your error and I cannot.
The only thing that have come to my mind is that you did not closed the image so the project was on going as far as the software concern
Try to do it again and make sure that you save the image before rezise.
If does not work, save it, then close the image and open it again.

I do not do the PP like you, I do all those adjustments including cleanin the noise on the nef file so when I convert it to tif I do not transfer the faults to a lrger image.
I have found that if I do cleaning, exposure adjustements (including point adjustments) and preliminary sharpening to suit the faults of the lens used in the nef file, then the tiff file is much better to work on it.

Just try it and let me know.

No problem here on NEF, TIFF or JPEG.

What version of NX2 are you using?

    Mine's 2.2.4 on Mac OS X 10.6

The latest Windows version is also 2.2.4 and is compatible with Windows 7.

Log the problem with Nikon Support website (you need to create an account [free]). They are usually good at getting back to you.

I resize for web using photoshop off the JPEG as it's nice and quick.

    I have version 2.2.4

Below is the example. So what I did in this case was set the unsharp mask with the Selection Control Points to the base of the image (rocks). Then I resized, and as you can see the Points dont lock to the location of the image but rather stay where they were when first placed. So this is what I wanted to know, is this a prob or just something that happens and cant be resolved by the app?

I am actually saving the file, then reopening it (TIFF) to resize and unsharp now anyway.

    Just curious really.

Nope can't replicate this at all on the Mac. Might be a Windows thing. Like I said post a question to the online Nikon support and see what they say.
