Liquid Worts

Any of you tried the liquid worts,4lt or so containers???
I have a Stout that is next keg up.I havent tasted but dont think I will go again.
I gave it my chocolate boost plus added some extra dark brewing sugar.It didnt "fire up"at all,had to add more yeast and a heat band to get it to go.For the price I think I would go 2 brew tins in the future.
It eventually went spastic in the fermenter!!!

I haven't tried the 4lt kits but have tried the 15lt kits from ESB, very nice and really easy to do.

India Pale Ale Wort Kit (including Saf yeast)
A deep tasting ale very true to its style. Copper in colour with lots of hops for that added bitterness, flavour and aroma. Excellent mouthfeel. Comes with DCL Safale Dried yeast. Will work best with WLP023 Burton Ale Yeast, or WLP041 Pacific Ale Yeast.

Double Choc Stout Fresh Kit (including Saf yeast)
For a full bodied Stout Add NO water. A classic Stout in the Guinness tradition. Nice roast flavours and aromatics. Tight creamy head. Incorporates the unmalted Torrified Wheat to enhance that creamy stout head. Comes with DCL Safale yeast. Will work best with White Labs WLP004 Irish Ale Liquid Yeast.

Hi all,

My understanding is that 15L or so is about the right volume for a wort and to get the stuff in the cans, the manufacturer reduces to 1.75L (that's the average can size I think?). Supposedly a lot of the goodness, flavour, whatever you want to call it, is compromised by this reduction process. Thus the need in most cases to add hops and other bits and bobs.

Having been down this path before, there are some great recipes that produce fantastic outcomes, so I’m not knocking it at all. However, my local Brew Shop has been selling fresh wort from Saint Peter’s Brewery in Sydney. 15L of the stuff, high quality yeast, 5L of water and away you go. I’ve got a twin font Kegorator going with 19L Cornelius kegs. The outcome is fuss free and fantastic.

I’ve tried Celtic Red, IPA, North West Pale Ale, German Wheat Beer, Chez Pilsner…and maybe a couple of others…..all great.

Just opened the keg from this brew.
ITS GOOD!!!
1 pint and I can feel that warmth in my cheeks.I think its pretty strong.
Excellent taste,nice and smooth with a definate chocolate taste.
YUMM!!!
