    Little help with d2a

Hey guys i had a little disagreement with a landrover dealer today over the wife's disco but i won't go into it here. I just need someone to tell me if their abs light goes out after the engine is started. I said the light should go out once it has done its self test wether it has been started or not. The dealer was telling me that it shouldn't go out until the vehicle is driven and the sensors register wheel speed.
I'm sorry but i just can't see that that is right. I know wouldn't drive off if i had a warning light on (unless i knew what it was on for).
Anyway if someone has a d2a 04 model preferably and no 3 amigo's, can they please just confirm that the abs light comes on when the vehicle is switched on and then goes off after the system has done a self test, whether the vehicle has been started or not.

Or on the other hand do i need to pull my head in because i don't know what i'm talking about? (not getting much sleep with new addition to the family so is quite possible).

thanx guys any help is most appreciated

    Mine doesn't stay on but only a 2 ('99).
Only time I've seen light stay on is after clearing the 3 little lads
Goes out after 200Mtrs but thats the only time it stays on.

    Needed a bump...
    Cheers, Kyle

Page 65 of the D2 owners manual (2003) says it should go off after its start-up check when key is turned to position 2. No driving required.

D1's definitely do have to get up to ~8kmh before it goes off.

    Just went & tried it.

Only lights to stay on after the self test were the handbrake, oil & battery lights.

ALL others timed out after the self test.

    You win...

Early ABS units in the RRC and D1 stay on until you get to 8 or so km/h. They do this to register the sensor function.

My 03 D2a turns off after self check.

    Cheers
