Excellent mud tyre. I believe they rated 1st or 2nd in a recent US mud test. Good rock moulding and surprisingly good in sand too. Quieter than Mickey Thompson MTZ's, but still a little noisy. I ran them for 15 000 km as the daily tyre on my D3 until I got my second rims.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

I have the Maxxis Bravo AT on my D2. Great tyre. The bighorn have an enviable reputation. My brother sells them in his 4WD modification and service business and has had very happy hard core offroaders and moderate offroaders alike. The Bravo's just dont seem to wear - dont know about the Bighorn wear wise.

    Cheers

I've got them in a 265/75/16 on my D2, great all round tyre...coming up to 40,000 kms on them, heaps of off road and on road travels. Will get them again,

    Regards

    Hi Gordon,

Do they make this tyre in a 19? I just had one of those briiliant LR moments which I'll relay in the stories thread later. A 03 LC owner was salivating over my D4 outside Bunnings. He'd been trawling the LR sites doing his replacement research but he thought that although the D4 sounded great he'd never considered a LR D4 in his list of possible upgrade vehicles due to what he'd read about the wheels and limited tyre options, until he came across a guy in the middle of nowhere (one of those famous trails that I'll get to one day) with a very late model RRS fitted with 19" somethings?.....I think he said Maxxis....towing a 3 ton trailer/caravan. The RRS owner stated that he'd only ever blown 1 tyre.

Mr LC couldn't believe that a RR owner would take it into serious rough country and have absolutely no issue with the terrain.

I laughed my butt off as the conversation continued....."26000k SERVICE YOU SAY?"....."MULTIPLE TRACTION CONTROL AND HEIGHT SETTINGS"..."UNDER 10/100KMs..600nm...etc, etc, etc.

He couldn't see himself in a RR but the D4 had seriously risen in his list.....lot's of reasons really.

    Oh what a feeling........

The RRS driver was probably on Goodyear MTR's - they're the only mud tyre made in a 19" size.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
