    Spare Parts For D4

    Can you believe LR?

After my little unplanned low level flying incident on Fraser Island, my D4 requires a couple of parts before a full mechanical assessment can be carried out on the steering and suspension.

The repairer has ordered amongst the required two new wheels, two front deflectors, front recovery point cover and lower front bumper bar.

All parts ex UK....at least three weeks wait. Since I've been waiting about 4 months for a door puddle lamp, I'm not holding my breath. I'd hate to think what would happen if my car was undriveable!

    It's absolutely ridiculous.

    Mate,

I had a similar problem with my car seat, seals and a fan for the D4. 8 weeks they told me. I hit the roof and got it contact with LR Australia, as like you that's ridiculous .

LR Aus were great with the support and it took 2 weeks to get it to the dealership and fitted from the UK.

Just wanted to post an update on my parts issues...

All the parts for my D4 arrived (after close to 5 weeks) and my car is now with BMW at Daisyhill, QLD getting put back together and assessed.

However, I got a call from them to say that four, not two of the wheels were buckled in the accident. .....so now I have to wait a few more weeks.

....and of course if they find anything else wrong, same deal.

Fortunately the car is drivable though.....otherwise it would be unbearable.

    At least it's progress.....

Mmmmmmmm......just found out at my last service (26K) that my front drivers side shocker needs replacing. I thought this because of the noise over speed humps etc.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get in.
Bit suprised that it only lasted 26K????
Rest of the vehicle is spot on. No niggles.
    Cheers, Craig

Thirteen weeks for an electronic park brake from Landrover for a D3. Vehicle is off the road until then. Not my car either - thank goodness.

Oh....mine is noisey over speed-humps too....It's something I was going to ask them about the next time I'm in LR. Maybe BMW will find something.
