    Question Carmtrol LPG Cutoff

    Greetings gurus!

Does anyone know anything about Carmtrol LPG cutoff switches?

My LPG isn't switching over from petrol. Yep the flick switch works and has power running through it but when it gets to the Carmtrol (CARM00) the LPG Valve has minimal voltage. Does anyone know how much is supposed to flow through to the valve?

Here's a diagram I found on a Torana site - different model Carm but same layout/concept (to help see what I mean).

Maybe the unit needs to be replaced but obvioulsy I want to check everything else before replacing it.

If I do need to go down that route, what are the unit recommendations?

    TIA

The Carmtrol safety cut-out is an ANTIQUE!!!. I used to find them reliable at 1 amp, touchy at 2 amp load, and blow up rapidly at 3+ amps. I haven't used one since the mid 90's. Nowadays I use the Apexus CO100 (or CO101 on EFI cars) which seems to handle 5 amps with ease. Rarely give me trouble. Try your local gas fitter or Welcome to the APEXUS Pty. Ltd. World Wide Web Site. Trade is about $25.

    Thanks guys.

Yeah, I thought of the Earth side of things, then got distracted. I'll check that out, otherwise, it doesn't sound to heavy on the wallet to replace.
