    Windscreen Wipers rubber blades

    HI ALL
I own a 2001 defender and the wiper blades are CRAP they fall apart easily and don't clean the window properly . Is there a another type of after market rubber blades on the market that I can use ??

I have used all sorts and have found Trico to be the most consistent in quality.
Also, check the springs are putting adequate blade pressure on the screen.

These are reported to be the best available. Have not tried them personally yet but will be getting some for the new 110 when it arrives.

The part number for the wiper blade assembly is DKC000110PMD. Britpart supply an aftermarket one but I have found that the original L/R part fits the wiper arm much better and clears the screen well, although it is quite a bit dearer than the Britpart one!

If the wiper arm spring is weak it can also mean streaking across the screen so if it needs replacing the part number for just the wiper arm is PRC4276-B. I fitted a set of aftermarket ones and they were very good quality and improved clearing rain noticably.

Blades can be fitted without replacing the wiper blade assembly but they are a bit fiddly to get in and the wiper blade support can wear significantly meaning improper tension across the blade.

    I hope this helps

Grockle where's a cheap place to get them from? They seem to come in at about £12 each which is expensive for wiper blades over here.

I ave some of the plastic backled rubber ones from supacrap - will these fit - at least as an interim measure? Are Defenders needing 6 or 8mm width.
