Those pics have been floating around for years
After all the number plate on the first couple of pics is from a 2006 registered car so that shows how old the pics are
I was looking on the net and found these pictures stating this could be the look of the New Defenders replacement in 2014?
Another look I found these
or even this!!!!
For the Defender to survive the New one has a hard following and would need to be as versatile.

I hope it is the new Defender - it will make me feel even better about owning a Puma!Dunno - I reckon the vehicles in those pics look like all the rest of the crap 4X4's out there these days.
I mean - would we wave to one of them?????

God I hope not!
Here's some other pictures that've been around for ages I thought I'd re-post. Still a bit odd looking but I think this has more promise than the other cookie-cutter crap...

Agreed Andrew - at least that one looks like a Rover.

This is a 90 at the gaydon museum
It has a 2 ltr petrol engine and was made about 20 years ago as a more
Cheap to run defender but then they came up with the tdi and stopped the whole idea. Bit like the v8 diesel that made in the mid 70's but they have bought that back of sorts

I reckon it won't change much in appearance at all. The T5 platform is 119mm wider in track than the current Defender platform, so that extra 6cm per side will allow for side impact protection and maybe elbowroom. The interior will be fundamentally different though to account for airbags, proper air con, built in SatNav and a proper sound system.
The next Defender is still meant to be available in a variety of body shapes over three wheelbases, and none of the concepts seen so far take this into account. No other vehicle on the market now has that versatility, so it won't look like anything else currently available.
Land Rover is also very strong with branding and identity, I remember reading when BMW took over, they believed LR/RR branding to be 5 years advanced on BMWs own strong branding.
This means that while the differences will be there, they will be subtle. Some may argue that LR should try and shake any previous reputation by going for a whole new look, but that would be a massive step backwards as being as or more recognisable as the Beetle, Mini etc can only be a great thing. Side by side, the old and new will be recognisable as being from the same stable. Open the door, and it'll be a very different vehicle.
The real question is, will it have a gearbox strong enough for a 4BD1?
Well we can all dream...
Another spin on the future Defender.......just someone mucking around with photoshop........

Rijidij 1000 posts! Congratulations
Who ever did the photoshop had some good ideas, I actually like the wrap around side to rear glass, gives it the open feel you get in a soft top... not sure about the front though... looking a bit too much like a disco...
