    7" GPS location

Any ideas where to fit a 7" screen in a Puma?

The ideal location would be on top of the dash:

But more realistically to the left of the console secured by a Ram mount(?) so it can swivel.

    Any other ideas?

this is where teh TD5 with the old dash wins... it sits perfectly on the screen with the bracket resting on the crash pad. the GPS then sits just above the stereo...

That doesnt help tho does it?

Looking at the second pic I just wonder if the GPS will read all the satellites so far inside.
I would like to place my screen on the MUD console but I am worry about the reception.

    Hi,
I use a puck GPS and data recorder. Last trip the puck fell off the dash and was on the floor of the passengers side for a few km.
Amazingly the thing just kept on trackin'.
    cheers

    Thanks for the comments.

Found a shop that had a stock (actually a big bucket full) of RAM Mounts - sorted through and got a:
    RAM-B-138

I used a bit of wood to assist in joining the RAM Mount to the gps holder. If I could have got a RAM Mount that had a square fixing plate the wood is not needed.

This taken from my eye level - driving position.

The gps can be moved further to the left and up or down etc. The RAM Mount allows a lot of movement.

    No problem finding the satellites.
