I think the trick is simply to have a little less leg room (ie move the seat forward) then the back-rest can be raked far more. There is a fair bit of leg room for the passenger in a Defender unless you partner is very tall.

						Hey Guys,
I know there are many threads on here about the seats in defenders, but they all seem to talk about raising / moving back / re-trimming... I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to recline the seats further? The vehicle in question is a 2010 130 dual cab.
I personally find the position quite comfortable, but my partner prefers to be able to lie back a bit at times. It seems that this is not possible with the standard seats... Or is there just something I'm not aware of?
I'm hoping to be able to prevent "numb-bum syndrome" and also keep my hearing... The trip from Jenolan to Brisbane (via Coonabarabran) had many whinges along the way
Thanks in advance,
Ant

Problem (except in the case of single cabs) is that the maximum recline angle is limited. I have not doen anything about it, but looking at the mechanism, it seems to me that a considerable increase in the recline angle can be gained by removing a fairly small amount of metal from the stop using a Dremel or similar. Looking at it, I can see no problems removing a couple of millimetres, which should equate to about ten degrees, and it may be possible to go further. (Note that any of this would strictly require engineering approval - but the probability of it ever being spotted is practically zero)

						Thanks guys,
JDNSW, I can see where you're talking about, however there also seems to be a small rod on the in-board side of the seat. Have you got any idea what this is for? It seems that this may also need to be modified.
Cheers
