    Front driveshaft?

    Hey guys.

I'm not the most mechanically minded person in the world and was just wondering if removing the front drive shaft from a '99 defender 110 is as easy as it looks? ie 4 bolts at each end? I need to remove it to check to see if the angle is causing a vibration in the driveline at mid-high revs.

    thanks

Pretty much. The only catch is that the bolts are not exactly easy to get spanners on.

Nyloc nuts should be replaced whenever they are undone. It is good practice to mark the position the shaft was in and return to the same position.

With the shaft off, ensure that it is not separated at the splined joint to avoid the possibility of it being reassembled at the wrong angle.

The vehicle can be driven without the front prop shaft provided the centre diff lock is engaged, but be aware that handling will be a bit different.
