    Starter motor

    Whilst I know how to give a starter motor a tap to get it working again, I'm not sure as to why, and if this means it needs replacing. Had to give mine a tap this arvo after the Defender wouldn't start.

    What's the go?

    Could be a sticking solenoid. A good clean and lubricate usually fixes.

    Could be the brushes.

    I used a hammer to get my mini moke going on many an occasion.
