    Landcruiser 80 Shocks for Defender

Hi everyone. This is my first time, so be gentle. I'm upgrading the suspension in my 01 Defender. I have ordered custom 3 inch springs from Dobinsons. Unfortunatley there is not much available in long travel shocks for the Defender. It bugs me that all the good stuff is made for Landcrusiers and Patrols . My question is this. I know Landcruiser 80 series front shocks fit the defender. But does anyone know if the Landcruiser 80 series rear shocks fit? I'm after a bigger bore shock.

    Qualified yes.

    They bolt in upside down.

Doesn't worry a Bilstein, but conventional shocks won't work properly.

You are aware that if you fit longer shocks you will need to move the mounts.

Thanks people for the assitance. Terrafirma do a long travel shock, 5 inch travel I think. I would prefer something Australian, tried and tested in the outback. Planning on doing the Simpson etc next year, if I can con the better half into sitting in a defender for two weeks . I'm thinking the Landcruiser Old Man Emu shocks should be long enough.

OME make a plus 5in shock too, to fit the Defender, the same size as the Terrafirma unit, its a pin to pin unit so you will need new upper mounts, an off the shelf item.
