Qualified yes.
They bolt in upside down.
Doesn't worry a Bilstein, but conventional shocks won't work properly.

Hi everyone. This is my first time, so be gentle. I'm upgrading the suspension in my 01 Defender. I have ordered custom 3 inch springs from Dobinsons. Unfortunatley there is not much available in long travel shocks for the Defender. It bugs me that all the good stuff is made for Landcrusiers and Patrols. My question is this. I know Landcruiser 80 series front shocks fit the defender. But does anyone know if the Landcruiser 80 series rear shocks fit? I'm after a bigger bore shock.

I know sum defender owners use GQ patrol shocks with a pin to eye adaptor

You are aware that if you fit longer shocks you will need to move the mounts.

i run 80 series fronts, GQ patrol rears with pin eye apapters, works well.![]()
I run extra long OME comp spec shocks, meant to fit the front of a raised 80 series.I run them front and rear, with modified mounts and Dobinson Flexicoils.

GQ/GU Nissan leaf rear dampers are eye top/pin bottom and have 10"+ stroke but the valving is all wrong.
Thanks people for the assitance. Terrafirma do a long travel shock, 5 inch travel I think. I would prefer something Australian, tried and tested in the outback. Planning on doing the Simpson etc next year, if I can con the better half into sitting in a defender for two weeks. I'm thinking the Landcruiser Old Man Emu shocks should be long enough.
