    Leyland Brothers World

Been watching Leyland Brothers World on 7TWO lately. Some great episodes, the best being from the Off The Beaten Track series, travelling in Series 2As to some real out of the way places in 1972-3.

I was amazed the other day, when they burnt the clutch out on AYI077, they got on their Flying Doctor radio and ordered a new one, to be dropped TOMORROW MORNING. We can't get that sort of service these days.

In a later episode from the Great Outdoors series they have an axle break on a Jeep Cherokee, which destroyed the whole housing and delayed their trip by some weeks. Mike gave a scathing comment on Jeep and their reliability and parts back up.

I've watched a few of these episodes too I recently stumbled across the "Wheels Across The Wilderness" dvd which is an excellent addition to anyone's collection. It also has the "40th anniversary revisited" dvd included.

I think the Leyland Brothers Films would be painted on more likely.

I hope some of you have captured some of this, I believe HH may have

We don't get digital telly here

The original decals may have been painted but for the resto, a transfer/sticker would serve the purpose.

Now I have my hoist in etc I need to dig that thread up soon.

Our local BCF Store were selling "Leyland Brothers" dvd's for $5 each not so long ago, I purchased one or two

Ebay had a similar thing too, the more you purchased the cheaper they got.

The one I'd like to get hold of is where they travelled up to Darwin in the rainy season against all advice not too. At one point they travelled about 2 kilometres in 3 days, as they were constantly winching the landrovers from tree to tree. Mud was at least 600mm deep and very sticky.

Anybody know which dvd this might be on ???
