dont the Army ones have headlining???
the whole lining is buggered from water damage....over the years
what are my options??
one is to line with carpet....what else have others done
i was thinking some insulation between the ribs and leaving it at that
wonder what a new hood lining is worth?

pull everything out from the roof line it wiht some closed cell foam ie. camping mats. then cover that with a marine carpet. works a treat and looks the goods, aswell as adding sone insulation and sound deadening
I had the same issue when we got ours a few years back.. Pulled it out and relined the panels with marine carpet. Was a bit rough, but worked ok - I had trouble getting it to fit properly again with the extra carpet thickness (and my bodgy hands).
However, I'm going to go back to basics and take it all out, then line the roof with that grey foam, foil backed stuff - grey side facing down of course (unless i want that disco/oven baked chicken look)... I reckon the grey foam will look as nice as carpet, and it'll give me an extra inch or so of headroom in the back, plus make it easier if/when i want to mount stuff off the ribs later on.
Hardest part I can see will be cutting the foam around the moon windows, but shouldn't be too awful.
if the shell's ok it doesn't cost to much to get it re-covered by a trimmer (think my ute was $120- 2 yrs back).
Stuck marine carpet to roof of series3 about 6 yrs ago (it's still ok & she lives outside) with water& heat resistant kwik grip that worked well (had roof off at time though & 2 sets of hands)

you seen mine? I used 'yoga mat' from clark rubber (same thickness as the ribs) and then marine carpet. I reckon it quietened it down a bit, and this summer will see if it has helped as a heat barrier.
