    Defender Door Hinges

    A quick question

Defender front door hinges (top one) if I remove the door bolts are the nuts captive with the door or do I have to strip the door linings ?

Looking at trying to tighten the mirror bolts a bit.

I have the same problem, they are not captive so you have to remove the trim.
I do not like to remove the trim here in Bundy because for sure the holding clips will break.
I am holding the mirror tight with a bit of shim, cheating but effective

Just confirming - captive in the door post, not in the door.

    What he said

On the Puma with the Plastic door trim you can sneak a spanner or a bit of blu-tac in to hold the nut in place. On a Tdi you find the nut in the bottom of the door somewhere

I was able to just get in beside the trim without having to remove it. But as others have said, don't drop the nuts inside or it will need to come off.
