I've an idea for a new one, but I haven't had time yet.

So here is one from a couple of months ago.

    30" exposure

Great pics, was hoping more people would have entered. I only have one successful long exposure shot from years ago on my old Canon EOS300! I have tried recently with my digital but they still end up way over exposed. I have to try and practice/learn some more!

Digital is great for this as you can look at the image, or ideally the histogram, to check it before you go home.

An easy technique is to use aperture priority and select F16, the lowest ISO your camera supports and then use the exposure compensation to take images at a range of compensation values until it looks right.
