Loctite at wrong end.
Fitted a rear bar last night to the Disco.
Now sounds simple but I had to drop the tow hitch to do it.
Both bolts going up to the rear cross member had 5mm of thread lock on them so tight all the way.
So what you say...
Common on the early TD5 was a lack of tread lock on the single oil pump gear bolt
So in Land Rover's mind set...
It's fine for the motor to clunk,rattle and stop, but we don't don't want the tow bar to fall off

Ha!, I thought the same thing recently.
The 4 bolts holding the fuel-cooler bracket to the intake manifold on Td5 had so much locktite that they obviously had run out of it when they assembled my oil pump bolt?

they only loctite the ones they dont have to remove regulary!??
