Oztopo or Shonkimaps ?

HI all

I enough need some info ! Is OZtopo maps worth the money or is Shonki maps good enough ? and can shonki maps be updated ?

bit of an old thread...but here goes. What GPS do you have?

I have a Garmin Dakota 20, and a Garmin Astro 220, and I initially went all mcscrooge and tried every free downloadable topo map i could find. Shonkymaps was about the best of the lot, but it had some funtionality issues when using it on the GPS units themselves. As a general map for use on the PC it was great, it's probably not as good as OZIexplorer.

I eventually bit the bullet and bought the overpriced garmin TOPO Australia/Nz maps and honestly haven't looked back.
