SPECIAL: Photography Competition to mark the end of 2010

With the end of 2010 almost upon us we are going to hold a special Photo Comp to move into 2011.

For the first time we will have a first and second place prize of two Land Rover shirts donated by a couple of people on the forum - Don't worry they are new ones

Here's what's happening:

• Photo comp #51 finishes next weekend, 19-Dec-10. Have you entered?
• Photo comp #52 will commence next week and will close on 26-Dec-10.
• The special photo comp will run in parallel but will finish on 03-Jan-2011.

The rules are set out in the next post. These are not exactly the same as previous photo comps, so please take time to read them.

Important dates:
12-Dec-10: Comp opens
03-Jan-11: Comp closes, voting commences
05-Jan-11: Voting closes and winners announced

We are aiming to have further comp's like this through out 2011. So dust of the camera, limber up the shutter button finger and start clicking!

== SPECIAL PHOTO COMPETITION RULES ==

1. Entrant must have entered at least 2 previous photo competitions on AULRO forum in 2010
2. Up to two images may be submitted by each entrant.
3. Image(s) must be taken in 2010.
4. Image(s) cannot previously have been used in any AULRO photo competitions.
5. Post processing is allowed.
6. Image(s) must be in line with the nominated theme.
7. Image(s) submitted must have been taken by you.
8. Images should be no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side and 256kb maximum file size.
9. An image may be "framed" with a border.
10. An image may be watermarked or contain a signature or copyright notice.
11. Original EXIF data must be embedded in, or submitted with, each image
12. All images remain the property of the entrant.
13. Each Image submitted must be given a unique title or number to assist in the voting
14. Competition will close on 3rd January 2011 at 9pm AEDT at which point voting will commence.
15. Voting will finish on the 5th January 2011 at 9pm AEDT.
16. You cannot vote on your own image(s).
17. Any forum member is eligible to vote on the entries but may only vote once.
18. If a forum member votes twice then only their first voting post will count.
19. A forum member does not have to have submitted an image to be eligible to vote.
20. When voting you must nominate a first and a second choice entrant and include the title or number assigned to that image.
21. There will be two prizes: 1st Place and 2nd Place. It is important that all those who vote indicate a 1st and 2nd entry preference.
22. The prizes will be awarded based on the total votes for each entrant.
23. In the case of a tie for first place then second place preferences will decide the overall winner and the other entrant will be placed 2nd.
24. If a draw still occurs then a coin toss will decide the winner.
25. The winners will be contacted on completion of the voting via a Private Message on the forum. You will be asked to nominate an address for the prize to be posted to.

Comments are invited throughout the comp but should be kept to a minimum and be relevant.
Do not quote images when posting a comment. If this occurs the quoted images will be removed by a moderator.

I took this photo because of the guy with the dog in the basket. It was one of those quick snap shots. I made it black and white because it simply works with this image. This my favorite shot from my China trip and it is I feel one of the best I have taken this year.
