I am interested in putting my 57 on club plates once I have finished the restoration. Can anyone recommend a good club that can scrutinize my landy so I can get it on club registration. I live in Melbourne. Thanks Nick

I recall hearing at the last LROCV meeting that there had been some recent changes to the club registration requirements.
Didn't listen particularly as I'm not in that situation, but there is a forum on the LROCV website where you could ask or get a contact for someone who knows the details.

Club Permit Scheme 2011

I'm a member of a classic vehicle club. They will allow me to put one of the Landrovers on the CPS through their club. I only mention this in case you are currently involved in a club.

Us Victorians have finally got the new club rego. scheme ..starts on Feb 1st . The AOMC have been working on this for quite a few years .. lots of hard work has paid off .

ON club plates .. you get 90 days per year of driving anywhere ... fill out a log book before each trip and away you go. The similar scheme has been in use in South. Aust. for years. Lets hope that nobody does the wrong thing and stuffs it up for all of us . Normal srutineering of vehicles applies... need to be 100% roadworthy . Not sure about night driving .... might be worthwhile checking... there were limitations on night driving .

thanks for that I have some old bikes on club plates so am aware of the new rules coming in which is great. just wanted to know if any other clubs other than vic land rover club was the way to go. cheers Nick

Nick if you go to the community area at the top of the page and pm Capstan. He is the LROCV scrutineer. The new rules come in in Feb. Or come to Wandin and drink Bundy with him. Ask for Adam.

I was aware that the new scheme was being discussed so it's good news to find that it's starting next month.
From my limited investigations it appears that some clubs need a roadworthy certificate before they will put you on the permit scheme others have someone who will carry out a check and sign it off. A colleague asked his car club whether they would also put motorcycles on their club permit scheme and they said that they couldn't see any reason not to.
I'm looking for a club for both motorcycles and cars to save joining two separate clubs.

I believe that the cost of the new club permit scheme will be slightly higher because of additional cost of the log book etc. does anyone have an idea of the annual cost or is this determined by each club individually ?
There was also the possibility that the vehicles would now be on the VicRoads computer system whereas I believe under the old permit scheme they weren't.

Looks like my Series 1 will go onto the Club Permit scheme as soon as I find a club that will also cover bikes.....
