Wiper Socket

I'm doing the wiring again.
On the wiring diagrams it shows a wiper socket attached to the wiper switch. Unfortunately, no other information is given.

What is it, a capacitor of a certain rating that can be earthed?

Any help is appreciated.

I think it is a plug/socket to disconnect the wind screen wiper motor ,when you lower the wind screen on to the bonnet.

I'm meaning number 46. On other wiring diagrams its called a wiper inhibitor socket. On other diagrams there is also a capacitor attached to point 2 of the wiper switch.
What's that all about?
