    Nudge Bar or Bull Bar?

I am considering frontal protection for my Disco 4. Has anyone had experience with the Landrover produced nudge bar? Would they give enough protection when hitting roos. My main concern is that i can continue driving to my destination rather then being stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Or should I be going for something like the ARB bar. I personally prefer the looks of the nudge bar.

Its a personal choice... If you can swerve at the last minute in low light whilst being blinded by oncoming vehicle lights and manage to get a moving roo dead centre of the nudge bar.... Then i guess that may be the way to go..... Or you could do the future proof way and buy a big bar...

Unfortunatley it doesent add much protection - possibly less so than the D3 version, even with the winch fitted, as the front two headlights etc are all exposed. I think UK's new frontal protection (pedestrian) safety standards might have something to do with the new (reduced size) design (compare with early l322 RR for example which wrapped around the headlights too.

I thought the main purpose of a nudge bar was "bling" and somewhere to mount spotties, the UHF and maybe the fishing rods - vehicle protection doesn't come into it except for a nudge in the car park.

    Hi lr4,
I ended up going for an Opposite Lock full bullbar (similar to ARB's).
I would have preferred a Sahara bar which is the same as what I have but with a tube bar at the top in the middle (if that makes sense).
Having said all this, I felt much safer travelling on my recent holiday knowing the I had full frontal protection, particulaly with so many Roo signs.
    Cheers, Craig
