4WD Action in Bonny Hills!
Gday all,
On Tuesday 24/1 I was travelling home from work after an early knock-off, passing through Bonny Hills to stop at the Tavern bottle shop I spotted John Rooths red old cruiser.
I decided to stop in for a quick hello to find them filming out the back and preparing to travel some tracks around the Wauchope Bago State forest area. I got talking to Glenn Hadden from Roo Systems (to which I found out, one of his guys is a LR accredited mechanic!) and showed him a little bit of footage of the local tracks and my disco in action from some videos I had on my phone.
I had a great chat to him while the guys were filming, to my suprise Roothy came over to introduce himself and ask about some of the local tracks.
I know there can be a little animosity between the cruiser and patrol owners but these guys were very genuine, down to earth Australians.
I guess i was a little suprised, but I thoroughly enjoyed the chat.
They are definately a great bunch of guys!
I'll now be on the lookout for the next issue with the DVD of this area.
Just thought I would share my run in with Roothy and the team from 4WD Action.
Cheers,

I look forward to seeing the DVD too. They've come a long way in the last couple of years but seeing the same sponsors on the big trips (Glen Haddon & the Don guy from TJM) is getting too much.
I mean, sure help out a sponsor but to plug them every 30sec or so is a little over the top.

Bugger, I was up there last week. Had a muck around on the sand between North haven and Bonny Hills...great spot. Water was a lot cooler up there than it is down in Sydney at the moment.

surprised they did'nt hit you up for a "special offer" if you subscribed for another 2,000 issues...
dvds are good though
and yes the same mugs from amms and tjm do get a little repetitive.

Yeah I saw Roothy at Macksville heading south on Monday arvo. Slowed down to see if he needed a hand as the doors were open on the side of the road. He said he was good and thanked me for stopping.

It sure seems like the sponsors have had a fair crack of the whip!
I told Roothy that if he needs a real 4WD to film that i would be happy to oblige!
Yeah the water is icy at the moment! The beach driving around here is quite good!
