has it got fuel in it
Checked that it isn't immobilised?
Yes, i should of explained a bit better sorry, when i say it wont start i mean when the last bit turning the key i have nothing, no power to turn the starter over, all the lights on the dash is normal as per usual but turn the key that last bit and i have nothing, thanks for trying thou![]()
shouldn't there be a light somewhere on the dash/steering column so you see it it disarms? THis happened to me, my immobiliser was bumped and had a loose connection. Everything you described was exactly the same.
This light is also used to override the immobiliser manually
I presume we are talking 130 Defender TD5 here? In which case I would be surprised if an immobiliser problem stopped it from cranking. It would be more likely to start and then stop.
It sounds more like a starter motor problem to me. Have a look at the cables connecting to the starter solenoid, and I would also be carefully checking engine/transmission earths.
Cheers,
Lionel
i had the same problem some time back
turned out being the starter solernoid
