exhaust rattle - Catalytic Converter ?
I have a '98 HSE 4.6L (140K kms) with a rattle below where my feet are
I have been told the catalytic converter has gone
I was told to go to an 'exhaust shop' - it could be expensive
Any tips ? Have I got 2 of them ?
Many thanks - this is the first problem that I have had with it - it has been excellent

The heatshield welds often break & rattle - check those first

What Scouse said.
Btw - I had to buy some cats for work. Holden V6 cats are dirt cheap ~$200 each from repco (trade price). Falcon 4.XL cats were about twice the price. It would be very cheap to modify the exhaust to accept a low cost commodore or 4cyl cat(s) of the appropriate size.
