    Things To Do Around Bundaberg.........

Was thinking of staying at "Bargara Beach" over Easter, just wondering if there is much to do and see around the Bundaberg area ?? with two boys in tow
We don't mind travelling around a bit as we will be based in a cabin, so we can jump in the County to go and explore....... ideas please

We have the usual touristy stuff like tours through the distillery, a cooperage and the Ginger Beer factory, etc.. We also have a local Zoo and the Botanical Gardens have a genuine steam train layout with rides. The gardens also hosts the Bert Hinkler Museum etc.
The 2 boys should like the local waterslide/goKart hire complex on the "Port Road" (which links Bargara and Bundy). We have a 10 pin bowling complex that has Laser Tag and heaps of other kids fun stuff.
There is and excellent military and colonial museum in Childers about 50 km's away. Abit further afield is Hervey Bay & Maryborough which have among other great stuff, a couple of great museums as well. Hervey Bay has it's own Kart hire track as well.

How far do you want to travel from your cabin ?

We do a pretty good ANZAC Day service on the Monday as well.

Pack a lunch, hop in the County, head north of Gin Gin a bit then turn off on to the Mt Perry Rd and spend an exploratory day and check out the 192 Metre long hand dug Boolboonda tunnel. Quite an experience (you can drive through it). Whilst there check out Mt Perry and enjoy the atmosphere of this old mining town.
I reckon Bundaberg and its environs has ample to keep a couple of youngsters occupied.
