H/T instead of A/T?
Hi all,
I have a 2nd set of rims for my D2, and have to soon purchase new rubber for the steering end. I am thinking about putting a set of H/T on the front as most of the km are bitumen. Of course that frees up my 2nd set for gnarly A/T's when we do actually 4wd.
I did this with a D1 I had and it worked well but that was with steelies.
Anyway, anyone have any thoughts or advice?
Secondly, without asking for price info, does anyone recommend a tyre place in the north or nw burbs of Brissy? 245/70 R16's.

I'm running GT Radial Savero H/T's on my D2 at the moment. Most of my driving is on either bitumen or sand, and I've been pretty happy with them so far. They're relatively cheap compared to others out there, but I haven't been able to fault them - have had them on for a couple of years now.
I've got the 16x8 rims on mine, so was able to go for a larger tyre than original (in both width and diameter). Only thing I had to do was reverse the spare wheel carrier so that the spare clears the bumper when you close the door.
Cheers .........

There isn't much point in running a second set if they're A/Ts, the advantage of the A/T over the H/T will be so minimal it won't be worth the effort changing four wheels over to go 4wding.
I was running two sets, A/Ts and M/Ts and even then the M/Ts ended up staying on full time as the road handling was fine.
I've gone back to running two sets, A/Ts and Centipede knock offs.
