    What price mobility?

I know this subject gets done to death but
I got quite shock this morning when I went to the Roadhouse to fill the wife's Delica & then top up the Disco3.
    Diesel was $1.97, a 20c jump in a week!
Yes, I live in the middle of nowhere & must expect to pay more, yep, fine, but a 20c jump in price in a week? Bloody hell!
I don't know what the price of fuel is in the real world (cities etc.) but do you have such sudden big price rises?
Anyway, almost $200 later for both cars I think I will look at buying 200Lt drums out of the Isa & trucking them up, probably still save a few quid.

I think it's close enough to $ for $ at the moment.

So if I make the assumption that diesel is around that price, $1.37, up & down the East Coast it is .60c to get it to Doomadgee.
    Cheaper to post it.
I know what it costs to get general dry frieght here from Brisvagus & that is not close to .60c a Kg & I seem to think deisel is slightly less than 1kg a Lt.

That would be $3.95 a gallon, would it not. I think there are 4.5 litres to the gallon, although I think the US gallon is different than the European gallon, but not by much???

obviously im not even close to knowing dollar or weights and liquid conversions...

lets put it this way, my ute holds 26 US gallons at $3.95 a gallon = $102 US dollars...

3.78 litres to a US wet gallon

1.37 X 3.78 = $5.18 per US gallon for diesel her is AUS.

A US gallon is about 3.8 lts IIRC. That means you truck holds abit under 100 lts X $1.37 p/l = A$137.00 to fill it in Brissy and your dollar is close enough to 1:1.

    you win
