What model 130?
do you have a multi meter in the car if you do check the battery if it is low in the fob then it will immoblise itself
Hi Guys
My immobilser has stopped working on my 130.
What i need to know is how do these things work. Its the old style where you have to plug it in.Is there a way i can disconect it intill i can get it to Perth.I am in Tom Price where no one will look at Landrovers so i need to sort it out on my own.
Please any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Can you get access to the wires at the back of it.
Any decent auto sparky with a multi-meter should be able to sort it out for you either by bridging across a couple of wires, or by breaking a circuit, depending on which way it is wired up. Those old immobliisers were pretty basic.

there is a by-pass code and procedure........but you need the code.......
haha.. been there, done that. I used to live in Paraburdoo and had the same thing happen to my '99 110. I had an aftermarket Immobiliser that was installed behind the instrument cluster. (ssshhh.. no one is allowed to know) a few screws and you have access. when i took it apart the 5 digit pin code was written inside it... and as a bonus perk, it was also bypassed with bridging connections (so I learnt how to do that too) and I had knocked one of these loose.
so my point is.. take your dash off and have a look.. any loose connections? if not, try to find a pin written on/in it.
Spot on the money rutmutt.
Thanks to every one who helped out back on the road with no need of a auto sparky.
Found the unit behind the cluster and it had the code that bypassed it found that it had copped some water inside so ill just order a new one from dynamco which is a simple plug and play.
Again thanks a million.

Just an update.
I emailed Dynamco in regards to the failure of the immobiliser and as i said previously it had got some water inside the box some how no fault of theres.
Well they rang me today and talked me through the whole proccess to bridge out the system, the guy could not help me enough.
I have bridged it out for the moment untill my new one arrives that he gave me for cost price $60 plug and play.
Its been a while since i have received service like that.
Well done to a Perth company Dynamco.
