Do you mean the Engine-Saver coolant alarm? If so, which model?
I fitted the Engine-Saver combination coolant alarm and head temperature monitor last year and can post a picture of where I located it if this is what you're installing.

						Last year there was a bulk purchase of temperature alarms. I know they fit snugly into a compartment on a Disco dash but does anyone have a "trick" way of mounting one in a Defender dash?

I located it on the right hand side of the steering column as the pic shows. Note the small square push button switch which I put in case it was alarming and I wanted to turn it off and keep driving.
On a bright day it can be hard to read but shading it with your hand overcomes this. It's not really an issue. At night it's out of the way and so not distracting.
