Well as it is going to be another 3 weeks before I get my Series III up from Victoria and I'm kicking myself for selling all my recovery gear to Steveo (although should have thrown in one of those magnetic spare key holders you hide under the car

)
I have come across some very cheap and very useful apps for iPad and iPhone.
The first is an Inclinometer called (Land Meter 4wd) which is free. Or for those with a D3 or D4 there is one called simply (Inclinometer) which is $1.19 but has the D3/4 shape. Very cool.
For those of us with more technologically challenged vehicles (aSmart HUD Navi Australia Map+) is Great. Cost is $1.19 Place iphone on your dash face up and the image is projected on the wind screen with Head Up display showing speed, compass, time and road map just to name a few features. Will look good in the 90 Pete once gear box is fixed.

(Trails - GPS Tracker) is one of the best and cheapest GPS units around. Cost is $4.99 Simple to use and plots your course as you go. I could have used this the last time I started to lead a convoy right Scollops

Now the last for Stevo the (Series II Disco App) Basically everything you need to know about the D2 although it didn't recommend taking an axe to the window when your locked out.

Hope these come in handy for people. Cheers Shepp
