Fitting bullbar to D3 Petrol V6 in Melbourne

Rang ARB HQ today and they confirm that the bars they have are for the Diesel only. I've read a few threads such as http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/...l-roo-bar.html

where the ARB bar has been fitted to the V6 petrol.

Has anyone had one of these fitted in Melbourne as I'd like to chat to an installer who has done at least one about what is required, costs, safety considerations etc.

Alternatively, any other bars people have had fitted in Melbourne on their petrol V6?

ARB USA site advertises LR3 winch bumpers.

The link below is to the ARB USA site which probably is not of much help for someone in Melbourne.

Diesel LR3's are not factory exported to the States or Canada; only the V6 and V8 petrol engined units. As such, the ARB bars advertised for the NAS LR3's must be what ARB considers "export only" and hence hidden from the Australian market or perhaps manufactured "not in Australia".

I have also read on the Disco3 board that on the V8 petrol units there can be some sort of interference between the washer water bottle and the bumper, but that it is apparently solvable; also that on the V8 petrol units, that there can be some sort of conflict between the Alternator which is mounted low on the right side and a bumper bracket - apparently this is also solvable.

The jpg attached is downloaded from a US website which are how to install instructions for an ARB winch bumper on I think, an Australian D3. The pictures within the instructions give a pretty good idea of what one might run into however as far as oil cooler lines, or not, etc.

Any of the Landie specialists listed in the FAQ will probably have done installs. Ritter, Les Richmond etc. I don't recall ever having seen an ARB bar on a V6 though.

Alternatively the Opposite Lock bar may fit a V6.
