    Clutch housing drain plug stripped?

I took the little threaded plug out of the bottom of the clutch housing the other day to see if there was any fluid still in there from when the slave
cylinder went. I thought it was funny it was only finger tight.
Put it back in tonight and the bloody thread is stripped.

From previous advise I was told it was ok to leave this out permanently
unless 4wding or traversing water. Am I right in assuming that I could just put a rubber bung in there to keep the water out?

Rubber bung will work fine if it stays in

I've never put the bung in mine - just don't change gears in deep water.
