Hi Folks and I have just upgraded all my D3, D4 and RRS dual battery kits and all the info is now available on my web site at

    D3

NOTE, all the D3 kits are now similar to the D4 kits and are now easier and quicker to fit.

Info on the new Defender dual battery kits will also be up on my web site within the week.

    Hi Tim,

In your second diagram on the SC80 page in the following link SC80 Isolator.html
you show the two aux. batteries(car 2nd & van) on independent wires(one blue, one grey), but in most, if not all, other kits the 2nd battery and van house battery are parallel. I assume having a two output wires(blue & grey) means they are independent doesn't it?

As it's common, and my case too, that the car's 2nd battery & the van house battery are/will be somewhat different, is this NOT ideal(having them in parallel)?

I thought this was another main advantage of your isolators(Handling multiple batteries & treating the batteries somewhat independently).

    Regards,

    Les.

Hi Les, and don’t worry about “MIXING” batteries.

They are all 12v lead acid batteries and contrary to a hell of a lot of misinformation out there, there are no problems associated with paralleling dissimilar battery types and the vast majority of D3s with dual battery systems, have totally dissimilar batteries in that most run an Optima Spiral Wound auxiliary battery with a flooded wet cell cranking battery and non have problems doing so.

The way the standard SC80 is set up is to accommodate special situations but in your intended set up, having all the batteries paralleled will actually help “ALL” the to have a longer life span.

And the obvious benefit of how my isolators work is that you have far more battery capacity available while your camping, than is available with any other brand of isolator.

The way the SC80-LR works also means you are able to replace more used battery capacity in a sorter time than any other brand and this means less driving time to fully charge ALL your batteries.

There are loads of other benefits but I hope this answers your specific questions to your satisfaction.

    Cheers, Tim.
