Recovery Shackle Mounting Points

Has anyone seen anything like this in Aus? If so, where?

If not, I'll get them from the USA.

Add suitable recovery points to your vehicle by fitting these heavy-duty shackle mounting brackets. These brackets accept standard ARB 3/4" Bow Shackles and are conservatively rated for three tons of load. Mounting to front bumpers requires drilling four 1/2" holes and fitting an Expeditionware Backing Plate. The Shackle Mounting Brackets mount with 1/2" high-grade fasteners, which are sold separately.

Seen similar on ebay, also seen some I really like that actually swivel and have a single large thread to fix on. Just wasn't sure about their rating.

I think I saw those in the Bearmach catalogue from Rovacraft.

No, they had a 4-bolt flat plate mount. I suppose you could remove the plate.

Yes, same thing but no plate, no shackle (in pic or incl) and looked more like either unfinished high grade steel or stainless.

Here are, sorry not bolted, but was wary about just how thick the max thickness material was that it would fit through.

Ron the mounting plate looks a bit thin, a "Rated" eye bolt (swivel type preferred) with say a 10mm plate behind and on front of bar/bumper would spread the load, remember to have the shackle hole in the vertical axis so as the shackle can align itself with direction of pull. Nobles, Blackwoods, Hare and Forbes would have suitable rated eye bolts, Regards Frank.

I have those on my winchlessbar, Rovacraft stocked them. They seem to do the trick, except some larger shackles won't fit.

Used these in my rear bar had to grind the 6mm plate down a little to get the cir clip into the grove

Does anyone know; the source, thread OD and length of those pictured above?

I have two hot forged eye bolts I sourced locally for the princely (princley?) sum of $20-, Rated at 2.0t lifting but they were purchased from the people who commissioned the manufacture (for another party, they were unclaimed). According to to them, the std for such products is the rating for lifting is actually a proportionally reduced value of the pull rating as they are tested to destruction by pulling (it's hard to keep adding enough load in weight). They rate for pulling at 5SDev of the lowest average failure value, then simply halve for lifting. They have a 1" eye and a massive thread, approx 23mm by memory. A similar system is used to certify climbing rquipment by some maufacturers so if it's good enough for me to have fallen on then I'll use it. So good for 4T apparently, very HD and takes a large shackle.



I have them vertically (often lazy and leave the shackle in so the hang) and use a bow shackle and sling or chains, the bow shackles allow better side loading but if the ones above have a large/long enough thread I'll replace.
