    HELP

    Hey blokes and blokettes

Need some info. Can anyone recommend a Landy expert in Townsville.
We're currently stuck in Bowen and it looks suspiciously like a cracked head or injector problem on the Fender.

Diesel in the coolant. Had a radiator hose replaced in Rocky, but now this. Was running well on the highway but kept overflowing the coolant. Turns out the rubber washer on the cap is cactus which allowed the tank to overfill. To many issues for my limited expertise.

    Anyone got any suggestions??

At this stage the plan is to truck the rig to Townsville on Monday and we'll know more then.

So much for our planned trip to the Cape

    OK

Google's your friend. Found a couple of recommendations ... Mark Nixon and Tim Vinson.

Sounds like the fuel cooler, hopefully not the head. If I'm very lucky it may even be only the O-Rings, however somehow I doubt it

Now stuck in Ingham awaiting a flat-bed to Cairns tomorrow. Looks like the head is stuffed afterall. That makes it 3 heads in 150000 ... not happy Jan

Going to Hypertune or something similar who were recommended by MR Auto

Don't muck about with anyone else - Tim Vinson is the man to speak to. He's so good that cars are trucked or towed even from the tablelands for his attention.

    The head is cactus !!!!!!!

This makes it the 2nd replacement head in 153,000 km and I'm not happy .
I'm over it . Even considering going over to the dark side .
So far my run with Landys hasn't been all that smooth.
Started with an Isuzu County, which we all know had a brilliant, albeit unexciting engine. Had the gear box rebuilt twice and it was on the way out for the 3rd time when I changed over to a Tdi Fender. Only had that for a bit over a year before changing over to a V8 Disco, so it didn't have time to show any issues. The V8 was good, however ongoing issues with the fuel pump, and the MAF played up like hell. It got to the stage where you were never sure whether the mongrel was going to decide to start or not.
Changed over to the TD5 Fender and apart from the plethora of minor niggling faults that go with the vehicle I reckon 50,000 per head on average is a bit much to ask.

You might want to try a P38 after your recent experiences
Well at least it is nice and warm up there.
I am waiting for the frost to clear so i can do my rear brake pads today.
Replacing cylinder heads every 50,000km is a bit much, take your self for a drive in a Land Cruiser and you will loose the desire to head over to the dark side.
