Think that was a Panasonic Lumix.

I bought the kids each an Otek cheapie - fixed lens so can't break that, waterproof to several metres and reasonably compact. The quality isn't up with the best, but well under $100 compared to around $300 for anything name brand.

I've got a Panasonic DMC FT2 that I'm quite happy with. Takes a good photo, even under water. I'll see if I can dig up some shots from Fiji tonight.

Hey mate there are quite a few available. I have a Canon d10, there is a pentax, lumix, Olympus and a sony I think. When i get home tonight I will send you a link to a good review by one of the guys I kayak with.
Check out THE SEA KAYAK FORUM • Index page and do a search you will find some personal reviews there. My Canon takes a decent shot and has taken quite a few dunkings in salt water and is still going strong.

    Hey Kelvin,

Here is the link I was talking about over 12 months old but at least some feedback of some of the models available.

And an example of the shots from my Canon

    G'day Kelvin

you can't go wrong with the panasonic, we've taken a couple of thousand photos with ours in some pretty harsh environments. High humidity, sand, dust, rain, flood, cyclone and mud, also been dropped a couple of times.

I'm going to shout swmbo one of the new models with the built in GPS so that the photos are geotagged with the location. (I get to use the old one then on the fireground )
