Diaphragm clutch

I've asked this question before, and I promise this is the last time.

I've had several answers to the question"Is a diaphragm clutch from a Series 3 lighter than an earlier Series 2 (Borg Warner?) clutch?"

The answers range between Lot Easier to No Difference.

Can I get one last round of opinions on this please?

Ive had both....

it depends on which method of setup you go.

if you put a series III clutch onto a II box with a spacer it will be a bit harder to operate and more difficult to hold the friction point depending on how well you space up and adjust the clutch mechanism. Done right all the linkages will be at the point where they give you the most mechanical advantage when the clutch is in the friction point and it will work nicely, get it wrong and it stacks against you.

IF you put a series III bell housing with a III clutch onto a II box you wont notice much difference.

i've just swapped my series 3 clutch for a known good used spare, both cover plates were identical in appearance/make (good name not a pattern part) as were the friction plates (changed because of clutch chatter when idling), strangely the "new" clutch is a lot lighter in operation

my series 2a 9.5" clutch is slightly heavier than the new s3 one but not enough to concern me (i've both motors/models)
