    MFC,

What's the situation with the lock nut key? You didn't get one with the car, so if you get a puncture you're in deep...?

If that's the case, inspect the one on your spare (the third nut's got a dimple and it's just a cover) and get the code off it. Most UK dealers will post one (the actual lock nut key) to you in under 5 days. The other option is if you still got your Owner's Manual, the code should be listed.

You would that imagine the stealers would have a box with the 12 odd possible options/combinations as a standard workshop accessory...

    all good now,
yea i cant see how they can operate relying on the customer having left one in the car. just looks like penny pinching to me.

My best recommendation - rack the lock nuts off and fit standard ones...

The keys crack at the most inopportune moment leaving you stuck...

I can remove a LR lock nut in under 30 seconds with a socket so they serve no benefit to protecting your wheels...

I had to weld my lock nut up (split) and then run a bead around it - not a problem now.

    Cheers
