    Series rego and insurance

I have the drum with club rego and insurance.

Has anyone got daily driver rego with compressive insurance. I think I'm dreaming but thought it's worth asking.

    thanks

Mine is on full rego, but only third party property. For comprehensive, the only insurers who would agree to a sensible value would be specialists like Shannons - and they won't insure vehicles used for commercial purposes.

Not quite a series but the same vintage - my 101 is of full rego and comprehensively insured. I have used Lumleys's Special Vehicles - a bit better than Shannons who also provide suitable cover.

Was thinking of private use full rego for six months and see how that goes. From my inquiries as a daily driver it looks as if only third party fire and theft is possible, payout would be market value.

Not sure I'm happy with that, with the way I almost get run over some days in the 130.

    Hi Jason,

For a Series one definitely try Shannons. The older the vehicle the cheaper they get even though the value insured might go up.

I don't think they are as good for later model vehicles but certainly for the earlier ones they are great.

    Shannons

I find Shannons good for all, if you are over 25.

My series 3 is on full rego and my daily driver,

FC 101 is on club rego.

both insured, full comprehensive with Shannons and for quiet a good value, we have requested salvage rights, though a series 1 would be automatic salvage rights as it is over 35 years old

I think Shannons are the winner. Comprehensive no worries, on full rego no worries, and a great price as well, but only insured for what I am paiding for it.
I guess an agreed value can be worked out later.
If I go to club rego later on they are happy to adjust premium along the way.

Just need to bring it home now

Shannons ask you what you want to insure it for
