The MODE button on steering wheel left

Just posting up as I thought the steering wheel "MODE" button on my new 2011 D4 SE was faulty or not programmed to work etc.

Turns out it is just damn slow to act, but then it does eventually do as it should ... that is switch between radio, CD, Aux etc.

Is everyone else's slow as well?

Interesting. I'm sure that the handbook does say that the mode button on the left side of the steering wheel switches between "modes" (radio, CD, Aux, etc), but on my new D4 2.7, pressing the mode button simply moves up to the next preset radio station.

Yes - that's EXACTLY what I got John & Deb, then I held it a little longer, not just a press, but hold it & voila - it swaps modes!

Try it & let me know how you go ...

    Les.

When i press the mode button is switches between radio, cd, aux, usb, ipod then back to radio. It takes about 1 1/2 seconds to change the mode after the button has been pressed, the same amount of time as it does if I manually press the touch screen to change modes.

Radio station changing for me is by using the left and right direction buttons

Can I clarify yours Brad72 please.

When you say 1 1/2 seconds, are you holding the button for that long for the change to oocur, or is it a simple press once & release, after which in 1 1/2 seconds it changes mode?

I notice you say touch screen, so you must have the higher audio package. Perhaps it performs differently ...

Mine is instant to change when by the dashboard front panel - no wait at all. If I simply press & release the Mode button, I get the next radio station instead of an actual mode change(the same as John & Deb).

    Regards,

    Les.

Your right outasight I do have the high end audio which is obviously a little different. When I press the mode button or screen icon momentarily it takes 1 1/2 seconds to change the mode of sound system. It's almost like there's a bit of lag in the system whilst is processes the command.
